The Tally Ho
The Tally Ho is a Traditional Pub dating back to the 1800's where some people may remember in the late 60's and early 70's the pub was home to many miner lamps, however a lot has changed since then. The current Landlord and Landlady Andrew and Marie are a local family who have an extensive knowledge and wealth of experience in Catering at numerous racecourses and events, with Andrew's well known father Barrie Cope. Between them they successfully ran many high class seafood bars and their reputation grew to the phenomenon we know today, with a very successful seafood stall still operating to this day. The stall is to be found adjacent to the Bombay Brasserie Restaurant in Green street Green, Kent. Andrew and Marie operate a traditional country style pub that offers a selection of fine real ales that change on a regular basis. There are also plenty of lagers and wines for you to choose for the non-ale drinkers amongst you! The menu is extensive with all the food home cooked, and as you can imagine; fresh fish specialists as well as locally sourced produce that has a real Kentish flavour to add to the dining experience. Every Tuesday is Fish and Chip Night where you can come and dine at the pub or alternatively take it away and enjoy in the comfort of your own home! Added to that, every Wednesday is our specialised Fish Night with the menu rotating often to give you the customer the chance to dine on fish that you may have never tried or haven't even heard of! The evening has proved to be very successful so make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment. The location of the pub is situated in the extremely picturesque top end of Knockholt which is ideal for walks along the top of the North Downs looking down over the beautiful Chevening Estate. Along from there you have the iconic walk made famous by Geoffrey Chaucer in the Canterbury tales � Pilgrims Way. In the village itself for the green fingered amongst you; there is Cooling's Garden centre. Feel free to wander around the centre and then drop by and visit us for your lunch afterwards! Local to the area are a number of famous landmarks such as the historic home of Sir Winston Churchill � Chartwell. As well as Squerreys Court and Quebec House. There is also Down House to visit. This is the home of Charles Darwin where he wrote his Theory of Evolution and is well worth a visit. The Pub itself sits on large grounds compromising of a large car park, large garden with adjacent field and play area for the children. The field hosts many outside events such as classic car rally's, parties and functions. We also have a large marquee that can be booked for your special occasion at any time. Included with this are an operational bar and a food trailer that can be opened at your convenience; such as Firework night where we can offer hot food for your delectation. We are a dog and child friendly pub and welcome them at all times.
